Many emerging applications require extraction of meaningful information from digital images and video streams, such as object detection/tracking, multimedia information search/summarization, intelligent surveillance and remote monitoring. In our research, we aim at developing object-level image/video analysis technologies to facilitate effective and efficient extraction of the useful contents and semantics from multimedia database. The core techniques used in this research topic include image/video processing, computer vision, pattern recognition and machine learning.
