Martin joined IVPL in 2006 after receiving his FH diploma from the University Of Applied Sciences Of Eastern Switzerland in Rapperswil, Switzerland. His undergraduate thesis was titled "Efficient Multilevel Image Thresholding" and received the UBS innovation award 2006. He received his M.S. degree from Northwestern University in December 2007; his masters thesis is titled "Motion Compensated Frame Rate Upconversion" and was authored under the supervision of Prof. Aggelos K. Katsaggelos.
Martin is currently working towards his Ph.D. degree. His primary research is focused on signal processing for multimodal neuroimaging. Other research interests include processing and compression of multimedia signals, computer vision, and pattern recognition.
