Derek received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Northwestern University McCormick School of Engineering in June 2004. He earned his Masters of Science from the Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Northwestern University in June 2007. He is currently starting his doctoral studies in the fields of audio-visual automatic speech and speaker recognition, audio-visual biometrics, face alignment/tracking, and facial feature extraction.
