Bruno Amizic


Biographical Sketch

    Bruno was born in Split, Croatia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri – Rolla (UMR), in Rolla, Missouri in December 1999, graduating summa cum laude. In January of 2000, he returned to graduate studies at the UMR where he held graduate teaching and research assistant positions through out his graduate studies.
    Besides academics, sport played a very important role in Bruno’s life. He was an active swimmer since 1986. Throughout his swimming year career, he competed at numerous competitions including three NCAA II Championships. Bruno was also a Croatian national champion and member of Croatian national team. As a member of University of Missouri - Rolla swimming team, he earned an All America, Academic All America, and Academic All Conference awards, as well as Most Valuable Player award. Bruno also served as team captain his senior year.
    Bruno completed his research and obtained his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree in February of 2002 and joined Zenith Electronics Corporation in June of 2002 where he worked on algorithms for improving the reception of Terrestrial High Definition Television (HDTV) under channel disturbances like Average White Gaussian Noise, Multipath, Doppler distortions, Phase distortions due to tuner imperfections and Sampling frequency drifts between the transmitter and receiver’s sampling clocks. Bruno joined Motorola in September of 2005 where he currently develops algorithms for the 3G mobile systems.
    Bruno joined IPVL in September of 2003 and has been working with Prof. Katsaggelos on the blind image deconvolution and super-resolution projects. Bruno’s current research interests include: adaptive signal processing, image restoration, blind deconvolution and super-resolution problems.
